Fios 1 News: High School Students to Learn First-Hand about the Dangers of Driving While Intoxicated

May 12, 2014 09:06 AM

Through a State Farm® Celebrate My Drive grant, the Trauma/Surgical Critical Care & Injury Prevention Section at HackensackUMC held a SAFETY SIMulator presentation for Saddle Brook High School students. The SAFETY SIMulator allows participants to drive safely under many diverse and adverse conditions, including snow, fog and heavy traffic. It also allows participants to feel how alcohol impairs the ability to steer and brake, and shows the danger when other drivers are impaired.Saddle Brook was randomly chosen for the SAFETY SIMulator presentation because of its participation in the Bergen County High School Traffic Safety Challenge and Celebrate My Drive program.
