Fios 1 News: International Walk to School Day

The Trauma/Surgical Critical Care and Injury Prevention Section of the Department of Surgery at HackensackUMC, in conjunction with Safe Kids Bergen County hosted the “International Walk This Way” program, to promote pedestrian safety at the Bryant School in Teaneck. Safe Kids Worldwide and program sponsor, FedEx Express, created “Walk This Way” to teach safe behavior to motorists and child pedestrians. Students attended an assembly on pedestrian safety led by Meliam Gonzales, RN, Trauma Prevention Coordinator and Clinical Educator at HackensackUMC. The students and their teachers then walked the perimeter of the school.
