During the month of April, National Donate Life Month is celebrated across the United States. It commemorates those who have received or continue to wait for lifesaving transplants. It is also a way to honor donors and their families who have been able to give the gift of life during their darkest hour. James W. Lim, M.D., FACS, program director and chief, Transplant Surgery, Organ Transplantation Division, HackensackUMC discusses how the donation of organs such as a kidney, liver and pancreas can give life to patients in need.
