August 6, 2016 03:21 PM

Manuel Alvarez, M.D., chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at HackensackUMC discusses the Zika virus and why pregnant women should be concerned. Two of his patients also share their stories. One patient was tested for the Zika virus after traveling to a country where the virus is active. She later found out she was pregnant. The other patient delivered her baby at HackensackUMC. The baby is the first infant to be born in the United States with microcephaly linked to the Zika virus.
