The Garden of Dreams Foundation recently unveiled the refurbished Pediatric Outpatient Family Welcome Area at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at HackensackUMC. The newly renovated and redecorated space on the 3rdfloor of the WFAN Building features breathtaking murals in the pediatric center patient and family registration area, elevator banks and hallways, offers a more comfortable and soothing environment for children facing treatment.
“Because of these beautiful renovations, the 17,000 pediatric medical visits that take place in this area of our children’s hospital will begin in this spectacular registration and waiting area. What a great gift for our patients and their families,” said Jeffrey R. Boscamp, M.D., HackensackUMC vice president and chief academic officer and chairman and physician-in-chief of the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital. “It is through the support of organizations like the Garden of Dreams Foundation that we are able to provide the best possible and highest-quality healthcare.”
The completion of the $175,000 “Garden of Dreams Foundation Registration and Waiting Area” project, which was put together by renowned artist James Kimack, is the latest example of the Foundation’s commitment to support tangible, targeted community projects and is a part of the Foundation's newly launched Giving Program. The goal is to provide vital resources and aid to the Garden of Dreams partner organizations and their communities in the tri-state area, through targeted assistance for community improvement, program enhancement and educational opportunities.
Through the years, the Garden of Dreams Foundation has given well over $300,000 to the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital and HackensackUMC Foundation - through direct donations and countless in-kind gifts, including:
New York Knicks, New York Rangers and New York Liberty commemorative items;
inpatient visits from Madison Square Garden-affiliated celebrities; and
tickets to sporting events, theatre productions and music concerts.
Thanks to the Garden of Dreams Foundation’s generosity, some HackensackUMC patients have been provided the opportunity to take part in some amazing once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, such as:
performing on the stage of Radio City Music Hall in the Garden of Dreams’ annual Talent Show;
receiving inpatient visits from NY Rangers Legend Adam Graves;
warming up with NY Knicks basketball players before games; and
