March 22, 2016 03:58 PM

Hackensack University Health Network is pleased to announce that all of its affiliated hospitals (HackensackUMC, HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley, HackensackUMC Mountainside, HackensackUMC Palisades, and Englewood Hospital and Medical Center) have been listed among Inside Jersey magazine’s Top Hospitals 2016. Inside Jersey conducts an annual survey with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. to identify New Jersey's top hospitals.

“We are proud that HackensackUHN hospitals are among the finest in the state,” said Robert C. Garrett, president and CEO of HackensackUHN. “I would like to recognize the leadership at each of our hospitals: Emily Holliman, CEO of HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley; John Fromhold, CEO of HackensackUMC Mountainside; Bruce Markowitz, president and CEO of HackensackUMC Palisades; and Warren Geller, president and CEO of our affiliate Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. Special thanks to Dr. Ihor Sawczuk, executive vice president and chief medical officer of HackensackUMC, and our entire medical team for their strong support of our health network.”

To develop the list, Castle Connolly asked more than 3,200 licensed physicians across the state to name the top hospitals for various medical conditions, as well as for overall care. Total votes cast were 35,922. Voting was divided into two categories: hospitals with more than 350 beds and those with 350 beds or fewer.

HackensackUMC, the Network’s flagship hospital, was not only listed as the number one overall hospital in the state with more than 350 beds, but also ranked first in each of the 10 categories.
