HackensackUMC Fitness and Wellness Powered by the Giants Receives 2015 NJBIA Good Neighbor Award

HackensackUMC Fitness and Wellness Powered by the Giants has received the 2015 New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA) Good Neighbor Award. This award annually recognizes the best and most exciting commercial and industrial development projects in the state of New Jersey. Winners are chosen based on economic benefit and job creation, architectural merit, and community involvement.

With HackensackUMC’s medical expertise and the New York Giants’ fitness leadership, the center offers Bergen County residents a state-of-the-art wellness facility equipped with an unprecedented array of amenities to help you achieve your personal fitness goals,” said Robert C. Garrett, president and chief executive officer of Hackensack University Health Network.
Since its opening on March 1, 2014, the 112,000 square foot facility has reached all facets of the community with members representing the complete spectrum, from high school students to seniors. The center employs over 150 full- and part-time team members. The center includes a sprawling fitness floor with state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength equipment, group exercise studios with classes including Pilates, yoga, meditation and more. The full-amenity locker rooms include steam and sauna. The aquatics center with saltwater-filtered pools hosts several classes and aqua physical therapy. The upper level is the sports performance center with a turf field, running strip and power equipment.
HackensackUMC’s nationally-recognized healthcare services are also onsite at Fitness and Wellness including the Debra Simon Center for Integrative Medicine, the MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center for Adults and Children, physical therapy, nutritional counseling, and a demonstration cooking studio. The full scope of services also encompass mammography and bone density screening, integrative medicine, corporate wellness programming, pain management, acupuncture, chiropractic care and apothecary.
“The creation of this comprehensive fitness and wellness center in Maywood, NJ, is the manifestation of a proactive approach to population healthcare. The awards ceremony for the NJBIA Good Neighbor Award will take place on Friday, June 5, 11:45 a.m. at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, NJ.
