Boscamp, M.D., HackensackUMC vice president and chief academic officer and chairman and physician-in-chief of the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital.  “The efforts of these young girls enables us to further our commitment to provide world-class treatment in the most compassionate environment for each of our pediatric patients.”

HackensackUMCwas host to the only American Girl Fashion Show® in northern New Jersey this fall.  The four shows featured 129 girls, ages 6 through 12 modeling costumes provided by American Girl Programs, Inc. The older models were paired with an American Girl® doll wearing a matching costume. They modeledAmerican Girl historical character outfits as well as American Girl Contemporary day and nightwear outfits from the catalogue. Theyounger girls modeled Bitty Baby outfits while carrying a matching Bitty Baby doll.   As family and friends watched with pride, the girls took the audience through various periods of U.S. history showing how clothing has changed over the years to reflect history, culture and girls’ individual styles.

“The American Girl Fashion Show is a unique way to raise needed funds for our programs and initiatives that help children,” said Kimberly N. Caesar, director of Development, Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at HackensackUMC.  “Throughout the past five years, our goal has been simple; ensure that the girls have the best possible experience and raise a significant amount of money for the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital.   For the girls and their families, the fashion show creates such special memories and the opportunity to participate in such a worthy cause teaches the girls about the importance of philanthropy.”

The models for the fashion shows were selected during model searches at The Shops at Riverside in July and August.
