On October 8, more than 300 guests gathered at the Designer Showhouse of New Jersey for the opening preview party. The proceeds from the Showhouse will benefit the many programs, services and initiatives provided by HackensackUMC.

“HackensackUMC remains on the cutting-edge of research and technology and we continuously seek ways to stay ahead of the curve,” said Robert C. Garrett, president and chief executive officer of Hackensack University Health Network. “These services are only possible because of support from the HackensackUMC Foundation and its events such as the Designer Showhouse of New Jersey.  The funds raised from these events directly supports our medical center and its vital programs and help ensure that we are able to continue to provide this award-winning care to our neighbors for generations to come.”

The Designer Showhouse of New Jersey isa showcase for premier design talent from New York and New Jersey.  Approximately 25 top interior and landscape designers have transformed a magnificent French chateau estate located at 11 Sawmill Road in Saddle River into a decorating masterpiece.

“Through the Designer Showhouse of New Jersey, we gather the community together to celebrate the fall while raising vital funds for HackensackUMC to support programs that help our patients battling cancer and heart disease and that treat children with life-threatening illnesses,” said Jon M. Fitzgerald, executive vice president and chief development officer, HackensackUMC Foundation.   “I would like to thank the co-chairs, Laura Garrett and Carol Schaefer, and members of the Designer Showhouse Committee for their efforts in presenting such a successful event this year.”

During the preview party, guests took their time going through every decorated room where they were greeted by the designers themselves who gave a first-hand account of the work that went into the space they recreated.  Guests also mingled in the beautifully landscaped backyard and patio where they enjoyed an assortment of delicious hor'dourves and desserts.
