The John Theurer Cancer Center received a $10,000 donation from Receptions for Research in the name of Jersey City’s very own New Jersey Grabowskis.
The John Theurer Cancer Center at HackensackUMC is the recipient of a $10,000 donation in the name of Jersey City’s very own New Jersey Grabowskis. The team conducts fundraisers in support of Receptions for Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation, an organization devoted to providing hospitals, doctors and scholars across the nation with the resources necessary to treat and enrich the lives of those affected by various forms of cancer and cardiovascular disease. Since 2010, the team has raised more than $77,000 for the Greg Olsen Foundation.
“We're truly humbled by the response and support our small group has garnered, and certainly by where our efforts have taken us, now being able to contribute directly to a world-class facility such as the John Theurer Cancer Center,” said Joe Moscone, captain of the New Jersey Grabowskis. “It's exciting and heartwarming to know that from this day forward, we're making a difference here at home in our New Jersey community.”
Receptions for Research’s founder, Greg Olsen, an NFL player and Wayne, NJ native, worked with the New Jersey Grabowskis in selecting the John Theurer Cancer Center as the recipient of the donation. Going forward, the Greg Olsen Foundation plans to make an annual donation to the John Theurer Cancer Center on behalf of the New Jersey Grabowskis.
“We are so honored and grateful that the team is dedicating their hard earned proceeds to the John Theurer Cancer Center for our breast cancer research program,” said Clare Q. Ward, vice president, Development-Principal Giving, HackensackUMC Foundation. “The research currently being conducted at JTCC is cutting-edge, and already providing life-changing results for our patients – longer lives, more remissions and more time to live a full and active life.”
Established in 1980 as a 501(c) (3) charitable organization, the HackensackUMC Foundation raises funds that support the diverse programs and services which benefit patients at the medical center. The Foundation accepts contributions in the form of direct cash gifts and pledges, matching corporate gifts, planned gifts and gifts-in-kind.
