HackensackUMC Physician Appointed to International Research and Education Foundation Board

HackensackUMC is pleased to announce that Joseph Feldman, M.D., chairman of Emergency Services at HackensackUMC, has been appointed to the board of the Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation (WINDREF).

Dr. Feldman will serve on both the international and domestic boards of WINDREF, an independent nonprofit organization based on the campus of St. George’s University School of Medicine (Grenada, British West Indies). The foundation’s purpose is to advance health and environmental development through multidisciplinary research and education programs.

“I am honored to be placed on this prestigious board,” said Dr. Feldman. “As a researcher, I always look for opportunities to promote the advancement of research in healthcare. I welcome this opportunity.”

Founded in 1994, WINDREF promotes collaborative relationships between internationally recognized scholars and regional scientists. Collaborators include ministries of health, education, agriculture and tourism, universities, and non-governmental organizations throughout the globe.

“This significant appointment is consistent with Dr. Feldman’s well-established commitment to educational and global health initiatives,” said Robert C. Garrett, president and chief executive officer of the Hackensack University Health Network. “We look forward to this international collaboration.”

Dr. Feldman will attend his first WINDREF board meeting at the House of Lords in London later this month.
