James C. Wittig, M.D., vice chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery, chief of Orthopaedic Oncology and Sarcoma Surgery, and director of the Skin and Sarcoma Division at the John Theurer Cancer Center, has been published as a senior author of “Operative Techniques in Orthopaedic Surgery.” This is a unique five volume textbook that teaches orthopedic surgeons the latest surgical techniques.
"I am pleased to announce the release of our second edition of the five volume series,” said Dr. Wittig. “As professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Seton Hall University, it has been an honor to help co-author the specific volume on orthopedic surgical oncology and limb sparing surgery for sarcomas. I am excited about future collaborations with Georgetown and look forward to teaching medical students and residents in the future, particularly through the new Seton Hall and HackensackUHN School of Medicine."
The book provides full-color, step-by-step explanations of all operative procedures in orthopaedic oncology, and was written in collaboration with experts from leading institutions around the world. The book provides a thorough understanding of how to select the best procedure, how to avoid complications and what outcomes to expect.
The user-friendly format is ideal for quick preoperative review of the steps of a procedure. Each procedure is broken down step by step, with full-color intraoperative photographs and drawings that demonstrate how to perform each technique. Extensive use of bulleted points and tables allows quick and easy reference.
