Just 30 seconds before the New Year, Jared Branda and Stephanie Lopez of Hasbrouck Heights welcomed Jacob Michael Branda at The Donna A. Sanzari Women’s Hospital at HackensackUMC. Baby Jacob weighing 7lbs 1oz and measuring 19 ¾ inches long is the last baby born in New Jersey. Maximus Kane Mena of Nutley, born at 2:27 a.m. January 1, was the first birth for 2016 at HackensackUMC and the first baby born in Bergen County in the New Year. Weighing 7 pounds, 5 ounces and 20 ¼ inches long, he was welcomed by his proud, first-time parents, Irena and Eric Mena.
