Facial Hair Helps Wyckoff Officers Garner $3,000 For Pediatric Cancer

Members of the Wyckoff PBA shaved their beards this month, after spending October growing their facial hair for their “Beards for Becca” campaign. They were helping Rebecca, also known as Becca Boo, raise money for Tackle Kids Cancer. The initiative is based out of the Children’s Cancer Institute at Hackensack University Medical Center, where Rebecca received her cancer treatment.

Autism Grants Help New Jersey Families Coordinate Care

Autism rates are rising by double digits in New Jersey, but state-funded grants have provided some measure of hope and help to hundreds of individuals with the developmental disorder and their families, who often struggle to provide adequate care. $400,000 was granted to HackensackUMC, another autism medical home, to coordinate care for adolescents and young adults.

Giving Back: NJ Devils players spread holiday cheer at Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital in Hackensack

New Jersey Devils players visited pediatric patients at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center this past week. Matt Taormina, Dainius Zubrus and Cam Janssen presented patients with gifts and signed autographs.

High school students from Bergen, Passaic and Hudson counties attended the prevention-focused conference entitled, "Getting Back to Zero," which addressed ways young people can be proactive in ending the AIDS epidemic.
