Manhattan is the epicenter of finance and culture and offers endless cultural and social activities to enjoy; whether you want to see a Broadway show, tour the Metropolitan Museum or MOMA, dine at world-class restaurants or visit Central Park, there is always something to do with your day off! Hackensack University Medical Center is minutes from MetLife stadium and is the hometown hospital for the New York Giants and physicians from HackensackUMC ED staff the Giants football games as the airway doctor.

Interns each receive an iPad mini for clinical and educational use. Biannually, there are resident's wellness days during which residents and faculty enjoy some of the experiences that this area has to offer.
Every year we send our intern class to SAEM and our third years to ACEP. In 2014, the entire intern class traveled to SAEM conference in Dallas, and in 2015 our interns were able to attend San Diego for SAEM. In addition, residents who have presentations accepted at conferences have the cost of their attendance covered. This year, our interns will go to New Orleans for SAEM and our seniors will go to ACEP in Boston.
Residents have four weeks of paid vacation per year.
