Radiology

About Us

The Department of Radiology is comprised of physicians, radiologic health professionals, nurses, administrative coordinators, schedule coordinators, and secretaries who work together to provide a comprehensive array of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services for both inpatients and outpatients. All of our Radiology Department’s imaging procedures are performed using state-of-the-art equipment that is subject to stringent regulatory standards. The healthcare professionals who administer and interpret these procedures are committed to obtaining the most accurate diagnostic information possible, which maintains HUMC Radiology as a trusted and  top-ranked hospital and radiology department in New Jersey.

Recognition

Hackensack Radiology Department has received a well-deserved recognition for outstanding diagnostic imaging and patient care. The new ACR Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence™ (DICOE) program takes a department or practice to the next level of imaging efficiency, safety and quality care.

The Hackensack Radiology Department is one of the nation’s only two DICOE recipients. This award was presented at the ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference on May 7, 2013, in Washington, DC.

In order to receive this influential distinction, facilities must be accredited by the ACR in all modalities they provide, and in which the ACR offers an accreditation program. Another requirement is to participate in the Dose Index Registry® and General Radiology Improvement Database, at least two National Radiology Data Registry (NRDR) databases, as well as Image Wisely® and Image Gently®.
