What is a Children's Hospital?
The name "Children's Hospital" is an earned recognition. The Children's Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center exceeds the standards of pediatric healthcare as defined by the Children's Hospital Association and the State of New Jersey. In 1988 the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital began providing pediatric emergency services to the community. In 2013, more than 34,000 patients were treated in its dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department-demonstrating a clear need for these pediatric services in our community. As a designated children's hospital, The Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital provides comprehensive medical and surgical pediatric care in more than 30 specialties, all integrated within a state-of-the-art child-and-family-focused facility.
