Other important information
You will be asked to send us all patient medical records before your visit. These would include notes from previous visits to other specialists, reports of laboratory results including imaging, genetic testing and pathology reports where applicable. In addition please bring medical records of other family members who may also have a genetic disorder. It may also be helpful to bring family photos and family tree information.
If you are coming to your appointment with a child(ren), please bring toys, books and snacks to keep your child(ren) entertained.

A medical geneticist on call is available for life threatening emergencies during other hours. Please call 201-405-7137 to page the doctor on call.
Support Groups
After is a support group for individuals/families who have terminated a pregnancy because of genetic reasons. The group meets once a month. The group is led by two genetic counselors, one of whom is also a licensed social worker.
Positive Thoughts is a support group for survivors and previvors who have tested positive for a mutation in a BRCA gene. The group meets once a month. Meetings are both informational as well as for open ended discussion. It is led by two genetic counselors.
