Sarkis and Siran Gabrellian Child Care and Learning Center
One of the largest single site child care centers in the United States is located at Hackensack University Medical Center. The four story, 30,000-square foot state-of-the-art facility is called the Sarkis & Siran Gabrellian Child Care & Learning Center (CCLC), honoring a generous donation from the Gabrellian family.
The center provides care for children from 3 months to 6 years of age. Open year round, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., the program is designed to enhance intellectual, physical, emotional and social growth.
In addition to the classrooms where children are grouped according to age, there is a computer room, an on-site kitchen facility and an atrium with an interactive model train layout known as Toscano Junction. Outdoor play areas offer age appropriate equipment for active play.
In addition to the regular program provided to families, the CCLC offers drop in care for children ages 2 1/2 to 5 whose parents have appointments in the Medical Center and for children ages 5 - 8 when schools are closed for vacations, holidays and snow days. A summer program is available from the end of June thru Labor Day. Pre-registration is requested for all programs to ensure availability.
Some special features that make the CCLC unique include:
Open Monday to Friday, 253 days a year and never closed for inclement weather.
Diapers, food and formula provided as part of tuition.
Discount for siblings enrolled at the center.
Developmentally appropriate curriculum, including a computer program for children ages 3 - 6 years old.
Dedicated on-site security during all hours of operation.
