The MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center for Adults and Children at Hackensack University Medical Center gives patients access to the most up-to-date, effective methods of diabetes treatment and management. Patients receive a wide range of expertise and services, all of which are designed to help them best self-manage their diabetes.

 At the MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center for Adults and Children, our goal is to help individuals become educated and motivated partners in managing their diabetes. With professional support provided by the MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center for Adults and Children, patients will gain the information, skills, and tools needed to live a healthy, productive, and satisfying life.

By turning to the center, patients take an important step in gaining control of their diabetes. The center delivers comprehensive diabetes education and, if necessary, management, providing individuals of all ages with a lifetime of support. Each member of the MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center for Adults and Children multidisciplinary professional staff of diabetes educators has received specialized education in diabetes management. Certifications include certified diabetes educator and board certification in advanced diabetes management. Our team is composed of advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, registered dietitians, and a licensed clinical social worker. We are affiliated with board-certified physicians and endocrinologists. Utilizing the latest in research information, our staff will develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs, and designed to meet your management goals.

Diabetes Services at Hackensack University Medical Center

  • Approximately 20 percent of our medical and surgical inpatient population has diabetes or hyperglycemia related to the stress of acute illness. New diabetes is frequently diagnosed.
  • Research done over the last decade clearly shows that good control of blood glucose while in the hospital improves outcomes. This results in faster recovery and less chance of post-operative infection.
  • Our dedicated team consists of certified diabetes educators, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, registered dietitians and a physician specializing in Diabetes. We work with patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians and other hospital personnel to optimize the care for all patients who are hospitalized with diabetes.
