What We Do

The Center for Advanced Wound Care provides a multidisciplinary approach and personalized care to improve the outcomes of patients with unresolved and complicated wounds.  We provide aggressive evidence-based wound care treatment and management including hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) to treat selected conditions.  Our goal is to heal chronic wounds, to preserve limbs, and prevent wound recurrence.  We are dedicated to providing the most up-to-date modalities in wound care in a safe environment and in a cost effective manner.

SERVICES

Wound Care - Care begins with an evaluation of wounds.  We provide:

  • Patient and wound assessment
  • Lower extremity evaluation
  • Wound debridement
  • Compression wraps
  • Topical dressing changes with advanced wound care products
  • Advanced treatment modalities
  • Wound care education

As the patient plays an important role in their healing process we provide an educational component to teach patients how to protect themselves from another chronic wound and to understand the process of healing.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

HBOT is a medical treatment that delivers 100% oxygen to the patient. By increasing the oxygen content level in blood and compromised tissue, HBOT provides the ideal environment to promote the growth of new blood vessels and skin - a cornerstone of wound healing.

Indications for Hyperbaric Oxygen

  • Diabetic leg and foot wounds
  • Chronic bone infection
  • Acute arterial insufficiency
  • Radiation related problems
  • Necrotizing infections
  • Gas gangrene
  • Carbon monoxide poisoning
  • Crush injuries
  • Selected non-healing wounds
  • Surgical wounds
  • Post acute burns
  • Soft tissue infection

On a case-by-case basis the hyperbaric physician may choose to treat patients with conditions or indications that are considered experimental or "off label" and of probable benefit to the patient.
