Welcome to the Center for Thoracic Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center. We are dedicated to providing you with the best care possible for your condition. We treat both benign disease within the chest and all types of thoracic malignancies. Our surgeons are experts in the latest minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques and can offer state of the art lung and esophageal cancer treatment options. All of our cancer patients are cared for within a multidisciplinary model in coordination with the The John Theurer Cancer Center and many patients are eligible for ongoing clinical trials. Our goal is to provide a high level of individualized care for each of our patients in a way that optimizes both the surgical outcome and your overall well-being.
Our surgeons have many years of experience in treating thoracic malignancies. They have trained and worked at top cancer institutions throughout their careers and bring that expertise to HUMC’s Thoracic Center.
Accurate diagnosis and staging is essential for any thoracic condition. Both imaging and invasive diagnostic tests may be necessary and we can provide these services.

Lung, esophageal, and other thoracic malignancies can be treated more than one way, depending on the individual patient and the stage of disease. Our affiliation with The John Theurer Cancer Center allows us to provide the most up to date treatment regimens for each patient that comes to us with a diagnosis of cancer.
