How Pulmonary Rehabilitation Can Help You Manage Your Respiratory Disorder
Pulmonary rehabilitation is a program that combines exercise, education and other therapies that allow you to gain independence from your respiratory disorder.
Individuals who are a part of our pulmonary rehabilitation program visit HackensackUMC three times a week to participate in a supervised exercise program, and also benefit from educational classes that include nutrition and breathing strategies to improve their quality of life.
In addtion, we host a pulmonary rehabilitation support group that meets once a month. Within this support group, patients can share their feelings and experiences about living with their respiratory condition and be a part of educational presentations.
The HackensackUMC Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
