I became chairman of the Department of Urology at Hackensack University Medical Center in 2001. Since then I have been privileged to work with wonderful urologists and staff who truly believe in our mission of providing world-class care to our patients.
During my time as urology chair, we have built specialized treatment programs for oncology, endourology, men’s health and women’s health. We have also provided quality education for residents, creating the first two urology fellowships in New Jersey—one in women’s health and one in endourology and robotic surgery. During this time, HackensackUMC Urology has also achieved its highest national ranking of No. 22 on U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals list.
It has been exciting to watch HackensackUMC’s urology department evolve into a renowned research and educational institution while continuing to offer some of the most advanced patient-centered urology care in the nation.
