Your Urology Team
As part of our commitment to excellent patient care, your urology health care team includes:
Nurse practitioners. Our nurse practitioners are specially certified in the field of urology and perform routine exams, order lab work and X-rays, prescribe medicines and educate our patients regarding their health, all under the supervision of a physician. HackensackUMC’s urology nurse practitioners are specially certified in their field by the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates.
Urology nurses. All of our urology nurses are specially trained in all aspects of urological care, including prevention, treatment and patient education. They provide expert care with sensitivity and compassion.
Surgical nurses. Highly trained and experienced nurses are a vital part of the HackensackUMC urology surgery team. They assist our surgeons with all types of urological surgeries and procedures and receive ongoing education to maintain expertise in the latest advances in the field.
Ostomy nurses. Our specially trained ostomy nurses provide services to meet the unique needs of patients with an ostomy—an artificial opening in a part of the body surgically created for the purpose of discharging body wastes.
