Urinary Tract Infection

Infections of the urinary tract are common in both men and women and may result in burning with urination, frequency of urination, and lower pelvic discomfort. If left untreated, urinary tract infections can become serious, particularly in the elderly. They are diagnosed with a simple culture and can be easily treated with a course of antibiotics. Patients with recurrent infections may require further evaluation to determine a potential underlying source of their infections.
