The Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory at HackensackUMC has been for many years at the forefront of Vascular imaging. Our highly trained vascular technologist, working together with a qualified physician reading panel, service the Institution as well as the community and physician practices in the Northern New Jersey areas. As an Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) accredited lab, we pride ourselves in delivering the most accurate non invasive exams for the early detection and diagnosis of a variety of vascular conditions. Our 5 exam room laboratory uses only state-of-the-art Ultrasound and Doppler equipment, and offer you complete privacy and comfort during the examination. We specialize in a comprehensive set of vascular studies and offer the following services:

Carotid Duplex Ultrasound for detection of carotid artery disease and stroke prevention including vertebral and subclavian artery evaluation with bilateral blood pressures.

Transcranial Duplex Ultrasound for evaluation of stroke, Vertebral basilar insufficiency and vasospasm for Sickle cell and post surgical coiling and clipping procedures.

Venous Ultrasound of Upper and Lower Extremities for detection of Deep vein thrombosis and superficial vein thrombosis. Varicose vein evaluation and detection of venous insufficiency.

Vein Mapping of the Upper and Lower Extremities for dialysis access, open heart and extremity bypass surgeries.

Arterial Duplex Imaging of the Upper and Lower Extremities for evaluation of native arteries, bypass grafts, stents and mapping for muscle flaps of the extremities.

Segmental pressures/Ankle Brachial Index, Pulse Volume Recordings and Digital Photoplethysmography to assess blood flow and arterial blockage in arms and legs including inflow, foot and digital information. Including Reynaud’s and Thoracic outlet syndrome evaluations.

Transcutaneous  PO2 for subcutaneous oxygen levels.
