On June 30, Rosemarie “Ro” Sorce, vice chairwoman of the Hackensack University Medical Center Board of Governors and Foundation Board of Trustees, along with a group of dear friends dressed to celebrate the Fourth of July, visited patients at HackensackUMC to honor this special occasion.
Joining the group for the first time was Heather Choi of the HackensackUMC Foundation Board of Trustees. During the visit, the group sang patriotic songs as they made their rounds and distributed treats and goodies along with coloring books and crayons to patients at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital. In addition, the group visited patients in the elder care unit, where they distributed crossword puzzle books and patients at the John Theurer Cancer Center. According to health care team members, the visits make quite an impression on the patients and help to lift spirits. The team looks forward to the visits as well. Mrs. Sorce and friends visit HackensackUMC several times a year to commemorate special occasions, including the Fourth of July.
