WMBC: Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Rachel Wellner, M.D., a breast surgeon at HackensackUMC was featured on the show, "Hometown" for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Dr. Wellner explains that on average, approximatley 200,000 women in the United States are diagnosed every year with breast cancer. Dr. Wellner says the earlier the diagnosis, the better the chance of survival. Because of early detection efforts by women and their health care providers, the survival rate of a breast cancer diagnosis is now upwards of 90%.
