Hackensack Meridian Health is pleased to announce that two of its hospitals have been recognized as National Research Corporation (NRC) 2016-2017 Consumer Choice Award winners: Hackensack University Medical Center (Hackensack, NJ) and Jersey Shore University Medical Center (Neptune, NJ). This marked the 21st consecutive win for HackensackUMC in the Bergen-Passaic market—every year since the award’s inception. HackensackUMC is the only hospital in Bergen County to make the list, and was also named a co-winner in the Jersey City market for the sixth consecutive year. Jersey Shore University Medical Center is the only hospital in the Monmouth-Ocean market, and has received the award nine times.
“Today’s health care market is all about consumer-driven products and services,” said Robert C. Garrett, co-CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “Patients know they have a choice as to where to receive health care, and throughout our network we have focused on responding to and anticipating the needs of our patients and their loved ones. We congratulate the teams at HackensackUMC and Jersey Shore University Medical Center for providing this award-winning care.”
“Hackensack Meridian Health is proud to be home to two of the Consumer Choice Award winners,” said John K. Lloyd, co-CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “Across our continuum of care, we are dedicated to providing care that is not only clinically-excellent, but is also patient- and family-centered. Our patients are at the heart of all we do, and we are honored to be recognized for the achievements we’ve made in being a provider of choice.”
The Consumer Choice Award by National Research Corporation identifies hospitals across the United States that healthcare consumers choose as having the highest quality and image. Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the company’s Market Insights survey, the largest online consumer healthcare survey in the country. National Research surveys more than 300,000 households in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia. Hospitals named by consumers are analyzed and ranked based on Core Based Statistical Areas defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, with winning facilities being ranked the highest.
