We’ve all seen the lifestyle advice: don’t smoke; eat more leafy green vegetables and fewer salty, fatty and sugary foods; get plenty of exercise and see your doctor regularly for blood-pressure and cholesterol checks and medications if you need them. But sometimes a neighbor’s personal story can motivate us as mere advice can’t.
