Fios 1 News: Suites Unveiled at Hackensack University Medical Center

The Hackensack University Medical Center Foundation officially re-opened the Suites on Second Street for families of children undergoing treatment at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital. After a major remodeling and refurbishment project, there are now six suites including two Sabbath rooms for observant Jewish family members of hospitalized patients. Renovations also included upgrading the elevator to become Shabbat compliant in order to better meet the needs of the Orthodox Jewish community. The project was made possible by the financial generosity of the Alfred N. Sanzari Family Foundation and the Poupko Family, who helped fund the Sabbath suites in memory of Chana Poupko.
