Art Show Benefits Cancer Research

A Weehawken woman battling terminal cancer is applying her visual arts experience to raise money for the hospital fighting to save her life. Toni Fukuda, an area art curator and cancer patient, is hosting an Oct. 7 art show to benefit research at Hackensack University Medical Center’s John Theurer Cancer Center. The event is due to feature art by Jeff Nishinaka, Los Angeles-based paper sculptor artist, and an appearance by Richard Turner, the Mayor of Weehawken, in an effort to raise $100,000 for the center and, in turn, future cancer patients.
