Hackensack University Medical Center Celebrates Earth Day

The Deirdre Imus Environmental Health Center® at Hackensack University Medical Center celebrated Earth Day with students from three Hudson County high schools who created amazing products from blue sterilization wrap. The products were on display in the main lobby of the medical center and the winners were announced during the event. The products, which have been created from unused blue sterilization wrap collected by the Central Sterile Department at Hackensack University Medical Center, personifies the importance of recycling discarded waste, specifically health care packaging, which would otherwise be sent to a landfill.
