New multiple sclerosis treatment slows down disease progression

The American Academy of Neurology (AAN) recently released new treatment guidelines which recommend that for most people with Multiple Sclerosis, it’s better to begin treatment sooner rather than later. Florian P. Thomas, M.D., M.A., Ph.D., M.S., chair of the Neuroscience Institute and Department of Neurology and director of the Multiple Sclerosis and Hereditary Neuropathy Centers at Hackensack University Medical Center, discussed treatment options in this report. One of his patients who is living with the disease was also profiled.
