Robotic system takes surgery ‘step forward’ at Hackensack University Medical Center

Hackensack University Medical Center is among the first hospitals in the world, and the first and only hospital in New Jersey to acquire the innovative da Vinci single port (SP) system, a cutting-edge robotic-assisted technology used by surgeons to perform complex urological procedures. According to Michael Stifelman, M.D., chair of urology and director of robotic surgery, with da Vinci SP technology’s revolutionary design surgeons only need to make a one-inch incision, which may cause less stress and shorten recovery time.
