Robyn Kretzschmar, MAS, BSN, CNOR, Administrative Director, Inpatient Perioperative Services and Central Processing Department
Robyn Kretzschmar is the administrative director of Inpatient Perioperative Services and Central Processing Department at Hackensack University Medical Center. Ms. Kretzschmar leads a team that embraces integrity, innovation and patient safety. Her perioperative team is nationally-recognized as CNOR Strong by the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI). Her Central Processing Department is one hundred percent certified by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or the Certification Board. Ms. Kretzschmar excels in the challenging and technological environment of perioperative services. She is accountable for an eighty two million dollar operational and capital budget and three hundred fourteen employees.
Ms. Kretzschmar’s thirty years of nursing experience have provided her with a broad spectrum of knowledge. She began as a bedside nurse, followed by a staff nurse in the Operating Room and then progressed into leadership. The last fifteen years of leadership has focused on the ever-changing informatics and business functions of the perioperative department. Ms. Kretzschmar led Hackensack University Medical Center Perioperative Services in its overwhelmingly successful implementation of the integrated electronic medical record in 2013. Her newest project is the implementation of gainsharing in the Operating Room.
Ms. Kretzschmar believes strongly in furthering one’s education. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from William Paterson College. Ms. Kretzschmar has a Master’s Degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain College. Ms. Kretzschmar holds a National Certification in Operating Room Nursing. She has also acquired multiple EPIC electronic medical record certifications, throughout her tenure. Ms. Kretzschmar is the recipient of Nurse of the Year Award, Most Valuable Team Member and is an honored member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
