Elizabeth Polanco, MSN, PNP, BSN, RN, Administrative Director, Patient Care Services, Maternal Child Service Line
Elizabeth Polanco has administrative responsibility for the women’s service line and overall nursing practice within the specialty as well as oversight of the lifeline program. Ms. Polanco obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from City College of the City University of New York, and holds a Master of Science in Nursing, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, from Hunter College of the City of New York.
Ms. Polanco joined the Hackensack-Meridian Family after many years of leadership experience and a track record of aligning organizations and teams with resources to create sustainable platforms for excellent patient centered care. She has held positions at New York Presbyterian Medical Center, CarePoint Health and Continuum Health Partners-Beth Israel Medical Center. Because maternal health and the care of their families is Elizabeth’s passion, she has dedicated her career to improving these services and increasing her knowledge of the unique and complex needs of the population. She has directed initiatives that reduced length of stay, championed implementation of best practices, has led national collaborative efforts and has successfully opened two epilepsy monitoring units in two different institutions.
Elizabeth is a goal oriented Director that looks to inspire and motivate clinical and non-clinical teams to consistently exceed expectations. She is a member of NAPNAP, a recipient of the Clinical Excellence in Nursing Leadership Award, NYP 2010, and in the same year was awarded the New York Times Tribute to Nurses, an honorable mention in leadership.
