Robyn Kretzschmar, MAS, BSN, CNOR, Administrative Director, Perioperative Business Analytics and Informatics
Robyn Kretzschmar is the Administrative Director of Perioperative Business Analytics, Informatics and the Central Processing Department at Hackensack University Medical Center. Ms. Kretzschmar leads a team that embraces integrity, innovation and patient safety. Her Central Processing Department is one hundred percent certified by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or the Certification Board. Ms. Kretzschmar excels in the challenging and technological environment of perioperative services. She is accountable for a sixteen million dollar operational and capital budget and nearly 100 employees.
Ms. Kretzschmar’s thirty three years of nursing experience have provided her with a broad spectrum of knowledge. She began as a bedside nurse, followed by a staff nurse in the Operating Room and then progressed into leadership. Ms. Kretzschmar became the Administrative Director of the Inpatient Operation Room and Central Processing in 2015 and then progressed to her current leadership role.
The last eighteen years of leadership has focused on the ever-changing informatics and business functions of the perioperative department. Ms. Kretzschmar led Hackensack University Medical Center Perioperative Services in its overwhelmingly successful implementation of the integrated electronic medical record in 2013. Ms. Kretzschmar has assisted the Hackensack Meridian Health Network partners with the integration of EPIC in their facilities. In her informatics role she is liaison to the Hackensack Meridian Health Network. Ms. Kretzschmar works with many departments internally and at the Hackensack Meridian Health Network, including but not limited to Information technology, Nursing, Finance and materials management.
Ms. Kretzschmar believes strongly in furthering one’s education. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from William Paterson College. Ms. Kretzschmar has a Master’s Degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is pursuing her second Master’s Degree from Chamberlain College. Ms. Kretzschmar holds a National Certification in Operating Room Nursing. She has also acquired multiple EPIC electronic medical record certifications, throughout her tenure. Ms. Kretzschmar is the recipient of Nurse of the Year Award, Most Valuable Team Member and is an honored member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
