Clinical Practice Areas
The nurse at HackensackUMC has a wide range of nursing specialty opportunities for practice, research, education, advocacy, precepting and mentoring. Of our 2,000 nurses, we have 30.9% certified RNs providing direct patient care; 67.6% certified RNs serving in leadership positions; 86 APNs; 48 Nurse Educators across clinical practice areas such as: adult critical care, adult step down, adult oncology, pediatric oncology, adult medical, medical, adult surgical, adult ante- & post-partum, NICU, pediatrics, PICU, operating room, psychiatry, emergency and trauma center and specialty practice areas such as allergy center non-invasive, outpatient medical oncology, outpatient infusion center, invasive cardiology, endoscopy and radiology.
Community Outreach
The commitment to excellence our nurses embody extends beyond our hospital walls into the community we are deeply connected to. From bringing HackensackUMC’s Health Awareness Regional Program (HARP) to those in need to devoting their time to local organizations and fundraisers, our nurses have a dedication to quality outcomes that our community has come to rely on.
