A nutritious, balanced diet is vital for good health and can reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses. At the Hackensack University Medical Center Teaching Kitchen, our experienced registered dietitians create delicious, nutritious meals before your eyes and provide free tastings. You can learn:
- The health benefits of various ingredients
- How to make healthy substitutions
- Food shopping tips
- How to read food labels
- Time-saving cooking tips
- How to reduce food waste
Four-session programs are also available which teach you how to cook healthy meals, with the guidance of the dietitian and a physician.
