Pulmonary Lab

The Pulmonary Lab at Hackensack University Medical Center offers an array of diagnostic studies for outpatients and inpatients with respiratory (lung) symptoms and/or limitations, or who require a definitive diagnosis.

Bronchoscopy Procedures

Pulmonologists perform a variety of bronchoscopy procedures in conjunction with the Pulmonary Lab. These procedures use a bronchoscope, a flexible, lighted tube, to view and take samples of the lungs.
Bronchoscopy procedures offered include:

  • Bronchial Alveolar Lavage
  • Transbronchial Biopsy
  • Wang Needle Aspiration
  • Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)
  • Navigational Bronchoscopy

Bronchoscopies are scheduled by the physician performing the procedure.
