The Thoracic Surgery Division at Hackensack University Medical Center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions of the chest. Our highly-skilled team of surgeons focuses on surgery within the chest for diseases of the lung, mediastinum (the area in the chest between the lungs that contains all the organs except the lungs), trachea, esophagus, diaphragm, and chest wall.

After her pulmonologist noticed an enlarging nodule in the right upper lobe of her lung and a mass in the middle lobe of her lung, Tracy Lane was referred to Geoffrey Pelz, M.D., a board certified thoracic surgeon at Hackensack University Medical Center and Hackensack Meridian Health Medical Group.
